Fitness captions let you add your steps or a recent workout to a Locket. To do that, Locket asks for permission to read data from Apple Health. It never happens without your permission, and your health data stays private to you.
Why does Locket ask for Health access?
Fitness captions show a stat like your step count or your workout time on top of your photo. To show those numbers, Locket needs to read them from the Health app on your iPhone. Connecting to Health allows Locket to show you accurate fitness stats from any devices that use Health like an Apple Watch, Garmin, or even your iPhone's built-in pedometer.
That's it. Health access is only used to show your fitness captions, nothing more.
What information is accessed?
Locket can only read these types of Health data, and only the ones you allow:
Steps and walking and running distance, for today's totals.
Workouts and cycling and swimming distance, for workouts you finished in the last 3 hours (like a run, walk, ride, swim, hike, strength session, HIIT, or yoga).
Locket never adds, changes, or deletes anything in your Health app. It doesn't read any other data like sleep, heartbeat, or other biomarkers.
What stays on your phone?
Your health data stays on your device. Locket reads it on your phone only while you're picking a caption, and it is not saved or sent to Locket's servers.
What gets shared?
Only the caption you choose to send. For example, if you pick a Steps caption that says 8,500 and send that Locket, the caption is shared with the friends you send it to, just like any other caption. A workout caption shows one stat you choose (time, distance, pace, or speed) with an icon for the type of workout. If you don't send it, nothing is shared.

You're in control
You can say no. If you don't allow Health access, you can still use Locket and every other caption as usual.
You choose what to allow. Your iPhone lets you pick exactly which types of Health data Locket can read.
You choose what to send. A fitness caption is only shared when you add it to a Locket and send it.
We don't share your health data with advertisers. Your health data is only used to show your fitness captions.
Frequently asked questions
Why does my caption say "No steps today" or "No recent workouts"?
This can happen if there's no data in Apple Health yet, if your workout ended more than 3 hours ago, or if Health access for Locket is turned off. Tap the caption, then tap "Open Health" to check that Health access is enabled for Locket.
Can my friends see my health data?
No. Friends only see the fitness caption on a Locket you send them, like your step count at that moment.
Can I delete a fitness caption I already sent?
Yes. Deleting the Locket removes it, caption included.

Can I send fitness captions on Android?
